Case Study: The Green Design Center Hidden Hills Project

When designers, architects and contractors remodel bathrooms, it's essential to create a space that is both beautiful and functional for the long term. Today, many homeowners prioritize health and wellness while also seeking a touch of luxury. The challenge lies in blending high-end design with innovative shower technology to ensure a space that is both stylish and beneficial to well-being.

We recently spoke with Andrew Pace, founder of GDC/Building for Health, to learn more about his Hidden Hills bathroom remodel. Andrew was looking to create a safer, more accessible space for a client with an immune disorder. In his search for a solution to improve air quality and reduce moisture buildup, Andrew discovered the AIRMADA AirJet Shower Drying System—a key component in mitigating excess moisture and enhancing the safety of the space.

Tell us about your background in renovations and remodeling.

I’ve been an architectural design consultant for over 30 years, specifically working with folks with allergies and mold/chemical sensitivities.

How did you hear about AIRMADA Drying Solutions?

I was introduced to AIRMADA Drying Solutions a couple years ago by a colleague who reached out to tell me all about it. Working with a client who has mold sensitivities, this seemed like an absolute no-brainer.

Tell us about the Hidden Hills project and why you chose AIRMADA Drying Solutions for the bathroom.

This home was designed and built for a client who suffers from Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and moisture mitigation was a key focus for us. Excess moisture can lead to mold and mildew and the use of AIRMADA, along with proper cleaning and good ventilation, will help us achieve our goals. CIRS also leads to a person being extremely sensitive to chemical emissions, so rapidly drying all the shower surfaces reduces the need for aggressive cleaning materials.

Have you used AIRMADA in any previous renovations or remodels?

This was our first project using AIRMADA, however after reviewing the product with both design professionals and current owners of AIRMADA systems, we made our educated decision to incorporate it into our project.

Will you use AIRMADA products in future homes you design and build for clients?

Without a doubt, yes!  AIRMADA is one of those “where have you been all my life?” products and we will enthusiastically endorse its use in all of our projects.
